This month we headed to our local fire department. It was informative and sobering! We met with the firemen and they gave us lots to consider-
What are our escape plans?
What about smoke detector safety?
What does a fireman look like when he comes to rescue you?
What should you do if trapped in a burning house?
We loved watching these brave men share from their stories- Its impressive to watch those who sacrificially love our city by risking their lives on a daily basis- humbling, to say the least.
Here we are checking out the fire truck.

As we closed our time at the Fire Department we took a chance to pray for our firefighters. The kids prayed such precious words for protection and safety and thanking God for their service-
I'm so thankful to be able to get into the community and experience this with my Marys. Its easy to get stuck in the "we need to accomplish _______" mentality and keep field trips as an idealistic concept. Don't! Get out there and do it. They don't have to be complicated or expensive, but they are so fruitful!
Loving the new blog. Just catching up and reading it all after our getaway. You're awesome!!!!
